Venture Forth International

Overview

Venture Forth International is a mountain guiding and instructing company based in Cape Town, South Africa. The company is the oldest and most established of its kind in the country and offers a blend of premium mountain guiding services, instructing services and a host of formal training and qualification courses aimed at the burgeoning mountain tourism sector.

The task was to build a modern website for the company that would set it apart from its competitors and establish a solid online presence that would last for years to come. Specific focus was given to optimizing the site for organic search engine rankings.

Responsibilities

Hit Delete was responsible for all areas of the project which included design, XHTML and CSS coding, PHP coding, Content Management System (CMS) integration and customization.

Brand Identity

Venture Forth is staffed by mountain guides and instructors of the highest calibre and professionalism. The brand embodies this professionalism and dedication while also incorporating the fun, excitement and adventure to be had in the mountain environment. Although the logo has been adapted since its inception in 1994 the “Venture Forth man” has remained a consistent element. This consistent element is highly recognized within the industry and establishes the brand’s mountain roots in an instant. The combination of the dark blue and orange in the logo creates both a feeling of safety, security and trust as well as adding a feeling of excitement that can be found in all Venture Forth activities.

The website embodies the Venture Forth brand and balances a clean modern feel with a sense of mountain adventure.

Strategic Challenges

At its core Venture Forth is a mountain guiding and instructing company. However the company has grown well beyond this and now offers activities such as youth camps, corporate teambuilding and educational treks. These elements had to be incorporated into the website while still maintaining the traditional core focus of the company.
