Roxy Surf School

Overview

Roxy Surf School is a girls only surf school and club located at Muizenburg in Cape Town. Roxy Surf School is part of the Roxy brand which falls under the umbrella of Quiksilver. The task was to build a website to create a wider awareness for the company as well as to create an intimate online space for the young female surfing community of Cape Town to interact.

Responsibilities

Hit Delete was responsible for the entire project, including front end design, XHTML and CSS coding, Cellphone CMSPHP programming, content management system integration, newsletter management integration. A custom tide chart script and WAP compliant content management system was developed for this website.

Brand Identity

The Roxy brand is specifically focused on young girls in their tweens and teens; the brand feel is very fresh, youthful and feminine. The website had a to incorporate the complete identity of the Roxy brand while still contributing its own unique elements that make up the Surf School sub brand - most important of these elements is a friendly and inclusive community atmosphere.

Strategic Challenges

Roxy Surf School had a corporate responsibility to comply with various central design elements that make up the main Roxy brand. The main challenge this project posed was meeting these requirements while still defining a unique Surf School sub brand and meeting the community driven goals of the company.

Rob and his team from Hit Delete have been phenomenal from day one. Their service and delivery is fantastic. They are professional - meeting me literally hours after I called them. I appreciate the way they worked though the website with me from start to finish, helping me understand each step which is incredible especially if you are borderline computer illiterate.
